Why the City is our home ground
Our kitchen is at 1 Hardwick Street, EC1R, just outside the Square Mile. That puts Bank, Liverpool Street, Moorgate, St Paul's, Fenchurch Street, Farringdon and the Barbican within a short ride by cycle lane: no van circling for a loading bay, no congestion charge, no parking fee quietly added to your invoice, and no emissions at all. Deliveries to EC1, EC2, EC3 and EC4 are our bread and butter, and they are where the service works best.
Who we deliver to
Law firms and chambers putting on client drinks. Banks, insurers and asset managers running a boardroom lunch or a floor-wide reception. Livery halls and institutions hosting a dinner's pre-drinks. Co-working spaces, startups and agencies marking a launch or a leaving do. The common thread is a standing event in a central London office where somebody needs the food to arrive on time, look right and need no plating.
How it works for a City delivery
Build a selection from the menu. Every item is a set of 20 canapés and orders start at £150. Pick your delivery date and time slot at checkout; delivery anywhere in the City of London (EC1 to EC4) is £5, confirmed by postcode. We review every order by hand and come back within four hours. Nothing is charged until we have confirmed we can do it properly. On the day the canapés arrive chilled, arranged in biodegradable packaging with inserts that hold each one in place, so they go straight from box to platter.
We ask for 48 hours' notice as standard, because everything is made fresh on the morning of your event. If you are working to a tighter deadline, call us on 0207 323 0112 rather than assume; we will always try to help.
No VAT on cold delivered canapés
Cold canapés delivered ready to eat, with no staff on site, are zero-rated for VAT under HMRC's rules. No VAT is added to the food and none to the delivery charge. Against a staffed caterer quoting plus VAT, that is close to seventeen per cent more food for the same budget. The detail is on our VAT and delivery page.
A complimentary tasting box with every City order
Every order delivered in the City of London or W1 comes with a complimentary chef's selection box: a cross-section of the current menu, chosen by the kitchen, so you taste across the range before your guests do. There is nothing to claim; it simply arrives with the order.
How many to order
Four to six canapés a head for something light alongside drinks, eight to ten for a proper drinks reception, ten to fourteen when the canapés are standing in for dinner. Most City receptions are the middle one. Not sure? Tell us about your event and we will suggest quantities.
Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver to the whole of the City of London?
Yes. Every EC1, EC2, EC3 and EC4 postcode is in our £5 neighbours zone, along with WC1, WC2, N1 and W1.
Can you deliver to a building with security or a loading bay?
Yes. Most City deliveries are to reception desks or loading bays with security. Add the delivery instructions at checkout, including any contact name, and our rider will follow them.
Can you deliver outside the City?
Yes. The rest of central London (Westminster, Southwark, Canary Wharf, Kensington and the like) is £20, Greater London is £40 and the outskirts £60, confirmed by postcode at checkout.
What about larger or staffed events?
